Roman Holidays

The eternal city is not my city, but I've been living here for almost a decade now....so I think I can say Rome is my home. Dailylife here is quite complicated, and not always charming as Audrey's life in Roman Holidays. The best way to make peace with Rome after a week of work, traffic and smog, is to spend the weekend in the city centre doing touristy things....and suddenly you realize that with no doubt, no matter how much you can travel, you live in the most beautiful city in the world.
The following pictures show how I spent last saturday in the eternal city...

cultural morning at Musei Vaticani (not allowed to take pictures inside Sistina Chapel, sorry!)

Lunch at one of my favourite restaurants, Baccano, near Fontana di Trevi, highly  recommended!
Followed by an espresso at Vitti in Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina and a couple of macarons at the new Ladurée store in Via Borgognona...bye bye diet!

After filling the stomach it was time for a walk in the street of art galleries, Via Margutta!

The rest of the afternoon was spent walking around the Pantheon area and the Fori Imperiali ending the day at the sunset with the view of the inimitable Colosseum...

Gypsy music on the way back home!

  4. Io sono romana, appena posso scappo e me ne vado all'estero a visitare chissà quali città d'arte, eppure Roma non l'ho mai visitata come si deve. Che vergogna...
