Rome in these days

Only a week to Christmas..Rome in these days is more chaotic than ever!!!!Anyway I like these Christmas-fever-atmosphere, especially in the city center....the decorations in Piazza di Spagna, via dei Condotti, via del Corso...are very nice! They are a lot, but Christmas must be a little bit exaggerated, don't you agree???
Anyway, if you are in Rome in these days and the shopping tour is stressing you out  too much for your tastes, there's a place just next to the famous Piazza di Spagna steps where you can have a relaxing break and recharge your batteries to continue the Christmas shopping....probably many of you know this place or not...anyway, I'm talking about the Babington's tea shop! As you can read on the official website, Babington's was founded in 1893 by two English ladies, Isabel Cargill and Anna Maria Babington, who came to Rome with the aim of creating a meeting point for the English community.
This tea room "survived two world wars and the fast-food Era", among its guests there are politicians, journalists, people who works in the showbitz, intellectuals and of course tourists and romans :D
The choice of various teas is very big and there are also good deserts (cheesecake, cupcakes, muffins..etc..etc..). It's one of my favourite places of the city, especially in winter...last year I was able to spend there 3 hours chatting with a friend after a long day of shopping, the atmosphere was so quiet and we were so relaxing ourselves that we didn't notice which time was! (p.s. the pictures are not so good, I know,  I took them with my blackberry..)
